Michael has handled IRS-CID criminal investigations of both individuals and business entities; multi-year IRS civil auditing of income and employment tax returns for businesses and municipal entities; and subsequent IRS enforcement & collection actions. He is a member of the bar of United States Tax court.
Real Estate, Bank & Development Fraud
Representing businesses and individuals, Michael has worked in recent years with the FBI, IRS, HUD, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and the United States Attorney’s Office on significant Arizona real estate- related fraud cases.
International & Bilateral Trade
Michael has worked with FDA Office of Criminal Investigations; FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) ; United States Customs & the Federal Aviation Administration on federal criminal matters involving importation, exportation, and transportation of goods and hazardous materials.
Immigration Matters Affecting Business Entities
Michael has represented business owners and managers, as well as employees, in federal criminal immigration matters, some receiving local and national media attention. He also has extensive past experience with deportation, inadmissibility, and citizenship litigation, and has appeared in United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals on such matters.

Finally, Michael represents many licensed professionals in criminal matters involving regulatory consequences meted out by: The Arizona Board of Medical Examiners (BOMEX); the Arizona State Nursing Board; the Arizona State Pharmacy Board; the Arizona State Boards of Dentistry & Respiratory Therapy; the Boards of Massage & Naturopathy; the Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Board & the State Board of Education.
His clients have included: M.D.’s, N.P.’s & D.D.S’s; R.N’s, L.P.N.’s & C.N.A.’s; teachers, professors, and athletic coaches, including those at the University; defense industry engineers, employees & other security clearance holders; Border Patrol Agents, Pima County Sheriff’s Department & Arizona Department of Corrections Officers; and others.
